Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information Nearsy and this website (nearsy.org) collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. Nearsy is provided by Qbify Technologies Limited, a company registered in the UK (company number 16788409), with its registered office at 310e East Wing, Langston Road, Loughton, Essex, United Kingdom, IG10 3TS.
The Nearsy App
Nearsy is a free application, and we are dedicated to user privacy. The app does not collect, store, process, or send us any personal data or non-personal data while you use it. Files you share travel directly between your devices over your local network and never pass through our servers.
Personal data refers to any information that could potentially identify you as an individual. Non-personal data refers to any information that does not directly identify you and is aggregated or anonymized. Since the app does not collect any such information, there's no possibility of us using, sharing, or selling this data.
This Website: Analytics and Cookies
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it, such as which pages are viewed and how people find the site, but only if you allow it in the cookie banner. Until you accept, Google Analytics runs without setting cookies. If you accept, it sets the _ga cookies in your browser. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer; withdrawing consent deletes those cookies.
The website also stores your light or dark theme and your cookie choice in your browser's local storage. These never leave your device.
Security
As the Nearsy app does not collect any data, there are no concerns regarding the transmission or storage of data on our side. However, we still prioritize the security of our application and the trust you place in us by using it.
Third-Party Data Collection
While Nearsy itself does not collect any personal or non-personal data, users may still be subject to data collection by third parties such as operating systems (e.g. Android, iOS, Windows), app stores, device manufacturers, and other apps that have permissions to access device data. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the data practices of these third parties. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of their operating system, app store and device manufacturer.
